Meet the Teacher - Mrs. Christy Helton

Welcome to Team Helton!  I am excited to be part of the Chinook family and 4th grade.  This will be my 15th year in Academy District 20.  I have taught kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades and have also worked in special education for many years.  I am married and have four wonderful adult children.  Some of my favorite activities are photography, sports, and enjoying beautiful Colorado

Philosophy:
My passion is to educate children and help them blossom into well-rounded, responsible and successful individuals.  It is my desire to provide all students with a rewarding and positive education.  My background is diverse and I have had the incredible opportunity to experience education at many levels. I feel strongly about teaching the whole child and providing differentiated instruction at all levels.  I value the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment that encourages all students to learn and grow.

Birthdays
Birthdays are special and important.  When there is a birthday in Team Helton, each student in the class will write a birthday letter to the birthday student.  This is a keepsake and a big hit with students. Summer birthdays will also be celebrated.  Due to several allergies I would like to have non-food birthday treats brought in such as pencils, erasers or other birthday goodies brought in.

Lunch
Fourth grade lunch is from 12:35-1:05.  Money may be added to student account in school or online.
