Meet the Teacher - Mrs. Christy Helton
Welcome to Team Helton! I am excited to be part of the Chinook family and 4th grade. This will be my 18th year in Academy District 20. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grades and have also worked in special education for many years. I am married and have four wonderful adult children. Some of my favorite activities are photography, sports, and enjoying beautiful Colorado
My passion is to educate children and help them blossom into well-rounded, responsible and successful individuals. It is my desire to provide all students with a rewarding and positive education. My background is diverse and I have had the incredible opportunity to experience education at many levels. I feel strongly about teaching the whole child and providing differentiated instruction at all levels. I value the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment that encourages all students to learn and grow.

Team MVP of the Week
Each student will be honored and have one assigned MVP week that is usually near their birthday or half birthday.
Birthdays are special and important. When there is a birthday in Team Helton, each student in the class will write a birthday letter to the birthday student. This is a keepsake and a big hit with students. Summer birthdays will also be celebrated. Due to several allergies I would like to have non-food birthday treats brought in such as pencils, erasers or other birthday goodies brought in.
Fourth grade lunch is from 12:55-1:25. Money may be added to student account in school or online.
Homework folders go home daily with homework and should be returned the following day.
* Required nightly reading
* Homework and Daily Planner
* The student planner should be reviewed and signed nightly by a parent or guardian.
