Chinook Trail’s researched-based curriculum includes Wonders Reading, Six Traits of Writing, Math Expressions and Foss Science. Teachers work with families to help students achieve academic excellence, gain social-emotional skills, demonstrate growth and meet or exceed education standards.
Chinese Integration
Learning Mandarin Chinese at Chinook Trail introduces a cultural piece children wouldn’t otherwise experience. All kindergarten through fifth grade students learn to carry a conversation using the Better Chinese curriculum. Respect for cultures and diversity is nurtured along the way.
A Great Day, Every Day
After a morning greeting from staff, Chinook Trail students engage in classroom work. STEAM is built into all learning as students learn technology, creativity and problem solving. Interventions from special support needs to talented and gifted are integrated throughout the day to ensure consistent connections.
Homework With Connection
Kids need space to learn and live. Curriculum-related homework at Chinook Trail is assigned Monday through Thursday, with exceptions. Assignments connect school and home, with family involvement. Work is individualized for students’ learning needs and is designed to teach and develop responsibility.
