Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Chinook Trail Elementary! We have so many opportunities for volunteers throughout our school. We warmly welcome parents, grandparents, and community members to share their time and talents with our students and staff.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can follow the application process at ASD20.org or email us to get started. We also ask that you attend a short, mandatory volunteer orientation.
Watch D.O.G.s (Dads of Great Students)
Watch D.O.G.s is a volunteer group of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other male role models who are motivated to be involved in the daily life of students at their school, from homework help to traffic management. Watch D.O.G.S read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own children but other students as well. Apply to join!
Watch D.O.G.s are:
Positive male role models for all students.
An extra set of eyes and ears. They bring a sense of security to the building by creating an environment conducive to learning.
Watch D.O.G.s get:
A glimpse of their students’ everyday world. They learn about the increasingly complex challenges and decisions today’s youth face. As a result, they learn to relate to their student and connect with them.
A greater awareness of the positive impact they can have on their student’s life in three critical areas including academic performance, self-esteem and social behavior.
The satisfaction of providing real and important help for teachers and students alike.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Our PTA extends and enriches learning opportunities at our school. We provide volunteer service, and school events and promote open communication and cooperation between staff, community, and parents.
Find out more about our PTA including their mission, a CTES swag store, and information on how to join by emailing us or learn more on our official PTA website.
