Culture at Our Core
Growing a cross-cultural mind and international citizens within the neighborhood is Chinook Trail’s essential mission. Staff, students and the community contribute to an integrated environment that reflects dozens of global cultures. Art, experiences and cultural resources support inclusive learning.
Character Counts
Chinook Trail is a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. Character traits like compassion and perseverance are woven into lessons using the GROWL approach. Students are supported to Give your best, Respect your world, Own your choices, Work hard and Listen carefully.
Big and Small
Academy District 20’s largest elementary, Chinook Trail maintains its small campus feel. Teachers, students and families know each other well, and devoted staff go above and beyond to connect meaningfully. Students are and treat each other like family in a community that celebrates kids.
Smart, Skilled and Unique
Reading, writing, math, social studies and science are taught using research-based curriculum, and all students kindergarten through fifth grade participate in Mandarin Chinese lessons. Innovative learning, technology and multi-culture perspectives provide extra invigoration for academic excellence.
